Fans of “One Piece: The Series” can now celebrate! This Thursday, Netflix confirmed the second season of the series through an Instagram post where the manga’s creator, Eiichiro Oda, shares the news while drawing one of the most beloved characters in the history of the Straw Hat Band: Chopper! please note that Marty AdelsteinCEO of Tomorrow Studios, producer of the live-action film, had already revealed to Variety (via Omelete) that the scripts for the second year of production were already ready, while the studio president, Becky Clements announced when fans will be able to watch the continuation of the Straw Hat Gang’s adventure:
Realistically, I hope within a year if we act very quickly, and that is a possibility. Maybe in a year to 18 months we could be ready to go live.”
Still, the producer duo has also expressed their desire to make more seasons. This happened in a statement released by Deadline (via Jovem Nerd), where Clements revealed the plan to adapt the story written by Eiichiro Oda:
We have more than 1,080 chapters of the manga. We thought a lot about how to break this down into seasons. I think if we do 6 seasons, we’ll be halfway through the manga. We could go on for much longer,” he explained.
