“I know I have one foot in the grave.” Linda Evangelista talks about her battle with breast cancer

“Breast cancer wouldn’t kill me”

It all starts in 2018, when the results of her annual mammogram are bad. Faced with this troubling diagnosis, she “without hesitation” opted for a bilateral mastectomy (total or partial prophylactic removal of both breasts, editor’s note) “I wanted to put it all behind me and not have to deal with it,” she told the magazine. I thought everything was fine and I was ready for life. Breast cancer wouldn’t kill me.”

“The Survivor Awaits”

For now, the health workers treating him assure him of a “good” remission prognosis. The former model, however, emphasizes that it is not immune to repetition. A 50-year-old man complains that he received a “horrible oncotype score”, which means a high risk of cancer recurrence.

When in doubt, the fifty-year-old says she’s grateful for every day she has. “I know that I have one foot in the grave, but I am in full “celebration” mode,” he assures.
