Know some differences between the animation and the live-action of ‘Aladdin’, Disney’s classic film
In 2019, Disney released the live-action adaptation of another of its classic animations: “Aladdin”. starring Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott It is Will Smiththe plot recreates the famous story about the orphan boy of Agrabbah presented in 1992.
Despite faithfully adapting the 90s film, the live-action “Aladdin” featured minor changes in its plot, which were responsible for making the story even more engaging and complete — and RECREIO will present you five of them now ! Check out.
1. Dalia’s Arrival
In the live-action, we are introduced to Dalia (Nasim Pedrad), loves and best friend of Jasmine, responsible for accompanying the princess on her adventures. The character, however, does not exist in the animation, and was created only to enhance the protagonist’s story.
2. Jasmine’s role
One of the big differences from the 2019 version to the 90’s version is Jasmine’s story. During the live-action, the character played by Naomi Scott she is forced to marry, as Agrabbah does not accept women as rulers. Her biggest ambition in the film is to win the right to participate in politics to help the people and take over her father’s throne. In addition, Jasmine also got her own solo song, “Speachless” (‘Ninguém me Cala’, in Portuguese).
3. Genius as a Narrator

Right at the beginning of the animation, we meet a merchant, who is responsible for narrating the entire story of the film. However, in the live-action, the Genie is the one who tells the whole plot, while presenting the story to his children.
4. Relationship between Dalia and Genie

In animation, Genie has a great importance in the story, but does not have his own in-depth plot. The live-action was keen to change that fact, and gave the magical being a love interest: Dalia, Jasmine’s best friend. The two begin to show feelings for each other early in the film, but only actually get together at the end, after Genius becomes human.
5. Iago’s Personality

Iago, Jafar’s pet (Marwan Kenzari), is one of the most striking characters in animation, where he is represented as a chatty parrot, with a strong personality and sense of humor. In the live-action, he is a macaw, and these characteristics ended up being diminished, where he is limited to a few lines, repeating a few phrases.
