Disney will launch one of its animated classics with the live release of “Pinocchio” later this year.
On Tuesday, the first teaser of the new “Pinocchio” was released, faithfully recreating the most beloved scenes of the animated film of the 1940s. Tom Hanks played the role of Jepetto, a scum carved in wood who likes his puppet, Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth), becomes a real man.
Like the blue color, Cynthia Erivo calmly describes “When You Wish for a Star” – probably Disney’s Favorite Top song of all time – and brings Pinocchio to life.

The new “Pinocchio”, which will be released at Disney + on Sept. 8, is directed by Robert Zemeckis, who previously worked with Hanks on “Forrest Gump” and “Shot”.
The film also features Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jimin Cricket, Luke Evans as evil coach and Lorraine Braco as Sophia Tolia, a newly written character.

This version stars Gregory Mann and Evan McGregor as Pinocchio and Jimini Cricket respectively, and the action takes place in 1930s Italy, as Benito Mussolini strengthens his hold on the country.
