Media mogul Rupert Murdoch may be 92 years old, but his love life continues to make headlines. Before he called off his engagement to Anne Leslie Smith in early April, the billionaire would find love after that.
A twist worthy of the series succession … At 92, Rupert Murdoch would no longer have a heart to take. According to reports: DailyMail: The Australian-American billionaire would find love in the person of 66-year-old retired scientist Elena Zhukova. “[Rupert Murdoch] has the energy of people half his age,” a source told the American news site Drudge Report:. “She might just fall in love again.”
The alleged couple have been spotted and photographed together in Positano, Naples and near the Greek island of Corfu. Rupert Murdoch and Elena Zhukova have been making perfect love in the Mediterranean for several days, first on the legendary ship Christina O designed by Aristotle Onassis, and more recently on a second unknown yacht.

The owner of the influential News Corp media group, one half of his empire (the other is Fox Corp, which notably owns the US Fox News channel), is said to have met his new partner through his third wife, Wendy Deng. The latter, in fact, would be very much related to Elena Zhukova’s daughter, who is none other than Dasha Zhukova, art collector, philanthropist and ex-wife of Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich.
The engagement was called off in April
Rupert Murdoch’s new couple, however, has something to surprise. In March, the wealthy businessman announced his engagement for the fifth time. The lucky winner was 66-year-old former San Francisco police chaplain Ann Leslie Smith. Admittedly, the couple had only known each other for a few months, but already felt like they were ready to move on. The media mogul, with a net worth of $17.3 billion, said that he proposed in New York on March 17, on St. Patrick’s Day, with a diamond-cut engagement ring that Ascher personally chose. “I was very nervous, he confided in columnist Cindy Adams (also 92) at the time. I was afraid of falling in love, but I knew it would be my last time. It would be better.”
But the state of grace will be short-lived. In early April, two weeks after the engagement was made official, American magazine Vanity Fair announced Rupert Murdoch’s split from Anne Leslie Smith. By the time the wedding was set to take place at the end of the summer, the billionaire would become uncomfortable with his future (fifth) wife’s (extremely) pro-evangelical stance.
Meanwhile, a relative explained that the former clergyman had difficulty coping with media coverage. “He’s very reserved,” said this friend DailyMail:. “They sat down, talked and agreed it was best to part ways.” Other reports, however, claim that one of Rupert Murdoch’s sons, the influential Lachlan, dissuaded his father from remarrying.
