In addition to Disney, the books of “The Chronicles of Narnia” will also be adapted by Netflix
New adaptations of “The Chronicles of Narnia” are about to come out of the paper for the Netflix! That’s because the filmmaker Greta Gerwig (Barbie), revealed in an interview with the New Yorker (via Omelette) that she was chosen by streaming to direct the films in the franchise.
It is worth remembering that Netflix acquired the rights to “The Chronicles of Narnia” in 2018, yet there is no more information about the project until then.
The title was created by the Irish writer CS Lewis in 1950. With seven books in all, the literary saga has already sold more than 100 million copies around the world, according to information published by Omelete.
In addition, more than ten years ago, the franchise was adapted for theaters by Disney who produced three films inspired by the saga: “The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, “The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” and “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, released between 2005 and 2010.
