After a change in Netflix’s audience metric, Wandinha became the most watched series
Last Tuesday, the 20th, Netflix announced a change in its metrics to analyze the audience of its productions. With this change, the fourth season of “Stranger Things” is no longer the most watched series on the platform. Now, that title belongs to the first season of “Wandinha”.
This new Netflix metric will report the average viewership of productions as “views” which is actually hours watched divided by total running time. Streaming will use this new method to rank the top 10 of available content, whether series or movies. This will also go for the list of most watched productions of all time.
The current top 10 most viewed English series on the platform ended up being affected by the recent change. Before losing the post to the series starring Jenna Ortega, the fourth season of “Stranger Things” relied on its 13 total hours to reach the top. Streaming also announced that it has expanded the mediation window of a production: what was 28 days has gone to 91, which is a help for both films and series to have more time to grow for the audience.
Even with the new form of analysis, the series “Dahmer: An American Cannibal” remained in third place on the list, while the first season of “Bridgerton” regained fourth place. The productions “Lucifer” and “Inventando Anna” left the top 10 after being overtaken by “Bem-Vindos à Vizinhança” and “O Gambito da Rainha”. In the top 10 of non-English language series, “Round 6” remains the sovereign and remains in the first position.
