It was on the pink carpet of the United Palace Theater in New York that the editor-in-chief of the American edition of Vogue was noticed on June 11. Next to him, in front of the cameras, is his daughter, Bea Shaffer, who became Carozzini.

It was in this last category that he was nominated ParadeA play by Bea Carrozzini, the second child of Anna Wintour, director of content at the Condé Nast press group, and child psychiatrist David Shaffer. The latter, 73, wore a Valentino haute couture dress, silhouette n° 73 from the Italian label’s spring-summer 2023 fashion show. Golden and short-sleeved, however, it seems that the length is taken. The fashion week catwalk model had a long opening to the top of the thigh, which is not the case here. Anna Wintour chose to pair it with gold heeled sandals and her signature dark glasses. Her 35-year-old daughter also opted for a high-fashion look, wearing a dress from Dior’s Spring 2023 collection. So, mother and daughter are matched on the red carpet, used to walking together.

Indeed, the duo goes to the Tony Awards almost every year. The first time was in June 1995. Bee Shaffer then accompanied her mother to 49e the edition of the ceremony clutched tightly in his hand. Over the years, the red carpet has seen a more or less appropriate mother and daughter parade. In 2015, they both opted for sequins. In 2016, the flowers that decorate their dresses are similar. And in 2017, even though one is at Alexander McQueen and the other at Maison Margiela, their looks both indulge in a play on textures, colors and embroidered details. If Bea Shaffer hasn’t followed the professional path of her mother, the “grandma of fashion,” this annual outing is nonetheless a reminder that she’s no slouch in terms of style.
