Popular on the social network Tik Tok, this idea seems unstoppable for getting organized every day and completing the most annoying tasks.
Endless to-do lists, time-consuming procedures, all kinds of commitments… Everyday life can quickly become a real race against time with all these tasks. Even more so, in a society where the burden of mental workload often falls on women’s shoulders. 80% of French women cook and take care of housework every day, compared to just 34% of men, according to Eurostat. . An uneven distribution that accentuates a sense of urgency, causing anxiety… and procrastination. In order to be able to somehow perform these tasks (while waiting to achieve a fair balance in their execution) and to compensate for the lack of time, since they are obviously added to the professional limitations, a new method of transmission over networks seems to be proven; worth: “horrible hour”.
Become a “Worthy Adult”
On his Tik Tok account, the user @classiclaur thus presents the idea of this “horrible hour”. In her video, which has been viewed nearly a million times, the young woman suggests dedicating an hour a day to stressful tasks that are constantly put off until a last-minute disaster strikes.
He explains that he has applied this method in his daily life to combat the anxiety that overwhelms him while facing his task. Keyword: sequence. By creating a small dedicated time slot, the effort seems less because it has a set duration in time, 60 minutes and no more. The alarm can also be programmed so you don’t have to look at the time. “‘Horrible hour’ is the only reason my loved ones think I’m a decent adult,” joked the young woman, for whom the approach is effective, however radical it may be. For better organized days, less clutter and as a bonus the satisfaction of controlling your time.
