In the early hours of this Thursday, 01, the HYBE LABELS confirmed the release date of the first episode of the survival show created for the launch of a new girl group for BELIFT LAB. The reality show that goes by the name ‘RU Next?’ premieres on June 30 on South Korean broadcaster JTBC, and on Abema TV in Japan.
‘RU Next’ will feature a total of 10 episodes, which will be broadcast weekly on the aforementioned stations. In addition, according to the Naver portal, filming of the program began this Thursday, June 1st.
The production team explained in a statement echoed by Naver that there will be 7 rounds of competition where questions such as “expressiveness, gender digestibility, experience, differentiation, creativity and stardom” will be put to the test.
The number of contestants expected to prove their potential to become the new debuting idols has yet to be revealed to the public. In addition, there is still no disclosure of who will be the MC who will lead the presentation of the show.
It is worth remembering that BELIFT LAB, the company that will be responsible for the new girl group, is a joint venture between CJ ENM and HYBE that manages the career of the boy group ENHYPEN, where the seven members of the formation were chosen through the reality show of survival “I -LAND” released in June 2020 by Mnet.
