CHURCH OF THE FALLS, Va. (AP) – Amber Heard told a jury Thursday that her ex -husband Johnny Depp’s harassment campaign against her was embarrassing and life -threatening because of multiple death threats, saying she just wanted “Johnny if would go away “. I’m alone.”
Online and in the classroom, Depp fans are completely dominant in the storytelling, with groups lining up all night to pick up one of the classroom chairs and rotate Depp as he enters and exits. Heard was greeted by spectators in the street as he entered and exited the courthouse.
“The harassment and embarrassment, a campaign against me that is repeated every day on social media, and now in front of the cameras in the showroom-I have to repeat the trauma every day,” Herd said as she struggled to cry. “Maybe it’s easy to forget that I’m human.”
During the cross-examination, Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez told Herd that “your lies have been exposed to the world” and asked people who disagreed with his reports.
“I know how many people will come out to the wood shop to support John,” Herd replied.
Depp Herd sued libel in Fairfax District Court in December 2018 for an article he wrote in the Washington Post describing himself as a “public figure representing domestic violence.” His lawyers said the article defamed him, even though he did not mention his name.
Herd said he hopes the lawsuit will allow him to regain his voice and said he has the right, as an American, to publish an article describing his experiences and how they relate to the national domestic violence debate.
“Johnny is enough with my vote,” he said. “I have the right to tell a story”.
He said Depp has been committed to revenge since filing for divorce and received a restraining order against him. He cited an earlier testimony in which Depp sent a letter to Herd’s disgruntled former personal assistant urging him to “come and look at the purple stain and we’ll fix it properly and have a nice ass !!!”
“Johnny promised – he promised – that he would ruin my life, that he would ruin my career. It will take my life, ”Herd said.
The last witness on Depp’s side on Thursday morning was a hand surgeon, Richard Gilbert, who said he thought the injury to Depp’s middle finger may have happened the way Depp described it.
The couple lost a finger while fighting in Australia. Depp said it happened when Herd threw him a large bottle of vodka. Herd said Depp did it to himself last night with a drug addict when he also sexually assaulted her with a bottle of alcohol.
The jury will hear the final arguments on Friday.
