According to the plot of the film, the writer Sandra is arrested for murder after the death of her husband after the snow fell under mysterious circumstances. Throughout the film, he tries to prove his innocence during his trial.
Triet is the third female director to win the award after Julia Ducourtnot in 2021 and Jane Campion in 1993.
