The film inspired by the book by Carina Rissi is scheduled to open in theaters in 2023
Filming for “Perdida”, a new national film inspired by the Brazilian writer’s bestseller Carina Rissi, have already started! The first work of a series of 6 volumes, it has more than 700 thousand copies sold in Brazil alone, in addition to a legion of fans on social networks. The feature film is slated to hit theaters in 2023, and stars Giovanna Grigio, Bruno Montaleone, Nathália Falcão, Bia Arantes and Luciana Paes.
The production follows the story of Sofia (Giovanna Grigio) a connected, progressive, independent girl who is terrified of the mere mention of the word ‘marriage’. The only novels in her life are those in the literature of Jane Austen. After using a strange cell phone, something mysterious happens and she is transported to a different world, which resembles the universe of Jane Austen in the 19th century.
Having no idea how to get back home, Sofia desperately tries to find a way to return to the world she used to live in. Meanwhile, she is taken in by the Clarke family and, with the help of the helpful Ian Clarke (Bruno Monteleone), embarks on a frantic search for clues that can help her solve this mystery and return to her much-loved modern life. What she didn’t know is that her heart had other plans.
Counting on a super production, the feature has breathtaking locations, mixing period mansions, forests, horses and canyons; an impeccable costume, which will feature more than half a ton of pieces brought from the most renowned European collections; and engaging story, filled with a lot of romance and adventure.
The film “Perdida” is directed by the carioca resident in Australia Katherine Chediak Putnam and co-directed by Dean Law; the script is signed by Karol Bueno and Luiza Shelling Tubaldini. Co-production is by Star Original Productions and distributed by Star Distribution.
