Last Thursday, the 27th, YG Entertainment released the 8th episode of its reality show, “Last Evaluation”. The program follows seven trainees (Pharita, ruka, rora, ahyeon, Chiquita, haram It is Wing) who are running to be members of the agency’s new group, BABYMONSTER, which will be the first girl group to be launched by the company since BLACKPINK’s debut in 2016.
At the end of the episode, Yang Hyun Suk, founder of YG, answered some questions regarding the group, and revealed how he imagines the ensemble will look in the end. It is worth remembering that he had already announced in previous episodes that BABYMONSTER should not have 7 members. In this ocasion, Hyun Suk he said:
Since we started planning the BABYMONSTER group, the number of members I had in mind for the group was five. Honestly, YG has never created girl groups with many members. BLACKPINK has four members and 2NE1 also has four members.
I still haven’t been able to decide who these five members will be.
BABYMONSTER’s final lineup of members will be publicly announced in two weeks, on May 12 at midnight. [KST].”
BABYMONSTER is expected to make their debut later this year. So far, there is no forecast for the group’s official debut.
