Amid the magic of the feature, some details, symbolism and even easter eggs contained in the story may have gone unnoticed. Check out!
‘Enchant’, Disney’s newest animation follows the story of the Madrigals, an extraordinary family blessed with the powers of magic. From super strength to the power to heal, all madrigals possess a unique gift. All except Mirabel.
Mirabel is the only one in the family without magical powers, but when she discovers that the magic surrounding ‘Enchantment’ is in danger, she decides to face the mission to save her exceptional family.
Amid the magic of the feature, some details, symbolism and even easter eggs contained in the story may have gone unnoticed, so check out some of them below:
1. The powers of the Madrigals are illustrated in their attire

From costumes to accessories, ‘Enchant’ allows the powers of the Madrigal family to be identified by observing the characters.
Like Dolores’ clothes, which have sound waves, Isabela who has Colombian flowers printed on her dress and Pepa who wears earrings in the shape of Sol.
In addition, Mirabel has her main mission referenced in her outfit through the embroidered butterflies that signify transformation and change.
2. Wall-e Easter Egg

In the scene where Mirabel discovers Bruno’s hiding place, there is a small reference to Wall-e, an animation released in 2008.
In Bruno’s room, there are objects collected by him during his years away from his family. Among the items, there is a boot with a small plant growing, just like in Wall-e, when the robot keeps the last sign of life from Earth inside the shoe.
3. The story behind Mirabel’s glasses

Mirabel’s glasses appear to be unnecessary, as the young woman’s mother possesses the power of healing. However, the glasses show Mirabel’s lack of magical powers, as well as representing that the girl sees her family through other lenses, observing them differently from the people around her.
4. Mirabel and her grandmother’s rooms

Mirabel and her grandmother Alma star in many conflicts during the 1h49 duration of the feature. The disagreements are caused due to the young woman’s lack of powers, which brings her grandmother great displeasure.
In addition, Mirabel seeks a different world and seeks change. Alma, on the other hand, defends the traditions of the Madrigal family.
These opposing views between the characters are also illustrated in the magic house, where the grandmother’s room is on one side of the house and Mirabel’s is located in the same position, but on the opposite side of the corridor.
5. Bruno’s appearance
Bruno is the member of the Madrigal family who has the power to predict the future, which causes him to be rejected by the family and disappear after seeing the future of magic. However, before Mirabel found him hiding in the house, Bruno appeared at another point in the film.
In “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” Mirabel’s uncle appears on the porch of the magic house surrounded by green smoke, symbolizing that Bruno never left and is hiding there.
