The first television production of BLACKPINK’s Jennie gets a premiere date. Check out!
HBO Max will launch an original series featuring an all-star cast. Among the stars we will have an artist making her debut in television productions and it is none other than jennie from BLACKPINK.
The series titled “THE IDOL” will arrive on streaming on June 4th and is a co-creation of Sam Levinson (Euphoria) and the singer The Weeknd. The star is not only in the production of the series, but will also play one of the protagonists alongside Lily-Rose Depp.
At first, not much information was known about the character of jennie, and many South Korean media pointed out that the artist would be just a dancer. However, the information was denied when the official teaser was released, which revealed that the character of the k-pop star interacts directly with the protagonist of the series.
An article in the American magazine Flaunt, released last year, stated that jennie would represent a bisexual secondary character, who according to IMDb, is named Angel. But the information has not been confirmed by HBO.
The production will follow Jocelyn, played by depp, a US pop star who is determined to regain status as the greatest of them all. When she meets Tedros, a businessman with a sober past who will be played by The Weeknd, she sees her passion reignited. Will this romance make her have new glories or fall into oblivion for good?
please note that Jisoo, another member of BLACKPINK, has already worked on TV projects. The idol starred in the k-drama “Snowdrop,” which is available on Disney+. The story takes place in 1987, in the city of Seoul and shows two university students who begin to get involved after a delicate moment. Check out the trailer!
