Stephen Colbert finds the exact moment that could mean Fox News is shut down

Stephen Colbert saw bad news for Fox News in his legal battle against Dominion Voting Systems, which is seeking $1.6 billion from the right-wing media company in a defamation suit.

The judge in the case is outraged that Fox News withheld key evidence, particularly a recording of Fox Business personality Maria Bartiromo speaking live with Donald Trump’s henchman Rudy Giuliani.

In the tape, she asks him if he has any evidence that then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is interested in Dominion.

“I read it, I can’t prove it,” Giuliani replied.

Colbert aired a clip of Bartiromo, then said on the show about Dominion, “I understand that Nancy Pelosi is interested in this company.”

Colbert called it the “payoff line,” which in this case could be the line that forces Fox News to pay $1.6 billion.

The judge is considering appointing a special master to look into whether Fox News lied to the court.

“So the issue is if Fox News is lying?” Colbert said. “Wait, am I a special master?”
