Last Wednesday night, the South Korean portal News1 reported that j-hopeBTS member is expected to enlist in the military on April 18 at a training center in Gangwon province, following confirmations from military sources (via Soompi).
However, moments after the news was released, BigHit Music, the company responsible for BTS, issued a statement in response to the publication, where it said, “It is difficult for us to confirm the date and location of the enlistment of BTS. j-hope. We ask for your understanding in this regard.”
It is worth remembering that, at the beginning of this month, the agency confirmed that j-hope will enlist as an active duty soldier soon where, through a statement, he asked the artist’s fans not to attend the enlistment site, as there will be no public event. Check out the full statement:

hobby, as he is affectionately called by fans, will be the second member of BTS to start mandatory military service in the South Korean army. The first was Jinwho enlisted last December at the 5th Infantry Division’s recruiting training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Last year, BigHit Music and HYBE had already confirmed that all BTS members will enlist in the military, following their personal plans and schedules. The group is only expected to reunite in its full formation in the year 2025.
