5 Disney Villains Who Should Be Even More Cruel In Discarded Versions

Find out how the origins of villains should be even darker in Disney animations

The range of Disney villains is quite diverse. In animated films, it is possible to observe the presence of sorcerers, animals, dolls, gods, warriors, pirates, princes and even little boys, who despite being very different in their physical characteristics and personality, have one thing in common: evil.

Still, what some may not know is that some of these evil antagonists should be even more cruel in discarded versions, as Screenrant found out, and, if you want to know some of them, be sure to check the list below:

1. Scar

Causing one of the most painful dramatic scenes in pop culture, Scar emerged in the ‘Lion King‘ (1994), as an evil lion, selfish and without any remorse, who dreamed of having the throne and ruling the entire jungle. But in addition to holding the title of King, in the original version he would try to force Nala to be his queen, sparing no effort to banish her when she rejected his advances.

2. Prince John

King Richard’s younger brother is Prince John, the main antagonist of ‘Robin Hood’. In the movie released in 1973, the lion didn’t have a grand evil plan, as he fits more into Disney’s roster of comic villains, but that wasn’t the original plan.

The initial script had Prince John fleeing a fire in the castle and chasing Robin Hood, following his trail until he found him in Sherwood Chapel, where the villain tries to take the life of the good guy in his sleep. An important detail is that maiden Marian would witness the whole scene.

3. Shan Yu

Strong and intimidating, the villain of ‘Mulan’ (1998), Shan Yu should be even worse. This is because the scene in which Shang’s troops find the bodies of soldiers who had their lives taken by Shan Yu on the battlefield should be even stronger, since the initial idea was to show Shan Yu destroying the village with his men.

4. Jafar

Jafar, the impetuous sorcerer of Agrabah, is responsible for complicating Aladdin’s life in the 1992 film, although right from the start, the idea is that he would cause pain and humiliation to the young man who would become Princess Jasmine’s great passion.

One of the musical numbers discarded from the animation would bring Jafar and Iago under Genie’s control, where they would have their wishes granted. However, the first wish is used to manhandle and torture Aladdin in the presence of the sultan’s court. The scene, which was supposed to be comical, would show the duo turning the boy’s hair into a swarm of locusts, making him vomit birds and exchanging his treasures for mice and flies.

5. sid

In the first film of the ‘Toy Story’ franchise (1995), Sid, is Andy’s neighbor who loves to blow up his dolls. The little villain would have his history with his cloth and plastic friends even worse, as he was originally going to be presented through the perspective of one of Molly’s toys, which would detail how Sid was responsible for torturing a baby rattle.
