A photo of Queen Elizabeth II went viral on Twitter after people saw them suggesting that there was a Tom Hanks symbol in the background.
Valentin Lowe, the London Times Royal Correspondent, posted on Tuesday a photo of a surprise visit by the British monarch to Paddington Station to officially open the new Elizabeth Pipeline, named in his honor.
Here, behind the queen and to the right of the image, is a man who at first glance would have seen Gump in the scenes of the 1994 hit film, in which he himself saw his own witness. A historical event.
Low “didn’t look in the background” when he took the photo, he told HuffPost. “I’m focusing on the queen, who’s been working well for 96 years.”
Twitter user @SkillsMcGill was the first to point to a man’s presence.
“I had to resize directly to see if it was Forrest Gump,” they wrote on Twitter Wednesday. The post has now garnered over 200,000 likes.
