The revelation was made by the CEO of Disney Bob Igernext to the actor Dwayne “The Rock” Johnsonresponsible for voicing the demigod Maui in the animation, and who, according to information published by The Hollywood Reporter, should return to the character in the new version.
“This story is my culture and is emblematic of the grace and warlike strength of our people. I wear this culture with pride in my skin and in my soul, and this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to reunite with Maui, inspired by the mana and spirit of my late grandfather, High Chief Peter Maivia, is something that runs deep for me. .”, said The Rock at the event.
Furthermore, the screenwriter Jared Bush, responsible for the animated film, also had his return confirmed. However, so far, the company has not yet released the name of the director who will be responsible for leading the production. The film does not yet have a release date.
