Ukrainians will be able to independently choose the composition of the national jury for the international song contest Eurovision-2023. This was stated by the head of the board of NSTU Nikolai Chernotitsky on the air of the telethon.
According to him, local residents can nominate their candidates for the national jury, and then vote for them on the Public website. The innovation will be introduced starting next year.
“All the dissatisfaction with the current jury is on the Public’s radar. Starting next year, one of the innovations in the formation of the jury is an open call., In their opinion, there is experience and weight in this area. Then “We will vote on the website and agree on EMC candidacies. As a result, a professional jury will be formed to vote for the Eurovision finalists next year,” Chernotitsky said.
Recall that after the grand final, a scandal erupted around the Ukrainian jury at Eurovision 2022. The reason was that the judges gave 0 points to Poland, which helps the Ukrainians because of the Russian war. Singer Irina Fedyshyn, who took part in the professional voting, named the reason for the lack of ratings for Pole Okhman.
