“The Daily Show” guest host John Leguizamo has a burning question for Donald Trump.
“Why do people always cry around Donald Trump?” the actor asked during his Tuesday night monologue.
The former president often says people cry when they come to him, and over the weekend he insisted — as he has done in the past — that Ron DeSantis come to him in tears as he seeks endorsements for the 2018 GOP gubernatorial primary.
“If you listen to enough of his stories, you’ll probably notice that this happens to Trump all the time,” Leguizamo said, then supercut Trump making the statement to a wide range of people.
Leguizamo suggested that if they really are in tears, it might not be for the reasons Trump thinks.
“Is his body odor so strong that people’s eyes start watering around him?” churches. “Are you constantly chopping onions? Does it always play the beginning of “Up” for some reason?”

As the “Daily Show” supercut shows, Trump stories — especially stories involving “tough guys” — often involve people who have been reduced to tears in his presence.
But they aren’t always supported by evidence, such as when he said farmers and ranchers cried behind him as he spoke at an event in 2017.
The video of that speech shows no sign of tears.
