Perhaps because of her passion, Selena Gomez happily targeted emotionally retarded men over the weekend on her debut on “Saturday Night Live.”
In a sketch depicting the long Japanese show “Old Enough!” – Where in real life kids do their homework for their parents – the frustrated Gomez has a mission for his girlfriend, a boy in his thirties, played by Mike Day.
In this version, titled “Old enough! The long-term girlfriend, “the owner (and, we might add, strong-haired) other important job has only two tasks to do: purchase a particular eyeshadow pencil from Sephora and deliver two shawl at home.
Before sending him on a trip, Gomez arranged his girlfriend for the adventure, equipped him with a canteen and a yellow flag with the words “STOP” to warn him of future movements, as in the original series.
“He’s only 34,” a funny voice said in the clip as Day himself was crossing the street. “Wow, the guts!”
Day’s performance is expected to be lower than that of his children’s counterparts. After she went to Sephora (though she got a lot of attention from the Anna de Armas poster), she quickly recharged, causing emotional breakdown in between.
Day, however, manages to leave the store relatively unscathed before crossing the aisles with a young countryman (Kenan Thompson) into the wild and heading to the market.
When he finally returned to their apartment, Gomez was somewhat disappointed in his analysis of his findings.
“I’m really proud of him,” he said. “Like I said, I asked her to get an eyebrow pencil and two shawls, and she brought 10 pounds of onion and a palette of blush for African American women, so we had to separate.”
Elsewhere in her debut as a presenter, where Post Malone was a musical guest, Gomez opened the show with Miley Cyrus who admired and joked about her sad state, which caused her to be admired by various other cast actors.
Gomez has already met Nick Jonas and Justin Bieber, the love story of the latter lasted another seven years. He was also linked to R&B superstar The Weeknd in 2017. They separated after a 10-month relationship.
The Disney Channel album first appeared on “SNL” in 2016 as a musical guest, performing her hits “Same Old Love” and “Hands to Myself”.
