Born in 1963, the daughter of Seu Souza and Dona Luísa, or rather Mônica, completed last Tuesday, 21, 60 years of her 7th birthday, where, as part of the celebrations, she received a “Happy Birthday” of his class and its creator, the cartoonist Mauricio de Souza. Remember!
But the celebrations didn’t end there! Mauricio de Sousa Produções has prepared several actions to celebrate the birthday of Brazil’s favorite shorty, which are carried out through new arts, products, face-to-face events, musicals, thematic spaces, exhibitions, special publications and audiovisual content that should be launched in different regions country over the next 12 months.
The novelties, which aim to commemorate the six decades of Dona da Rua, had yet another declaration of mauricio to Mônica, who, while inviting the public to follow and participate in the news, revealed how the character became and remains her “pride” after so many years:
I am proud to see this little girl, who entered the Cebolinha comic strip and won over readers right away, arriving with all her determination, today, after 60 years. Well, for her it was only seven! We invite the fans to play with us in the celebrations that we are preparing with so much affection. Sixty hugs for everyone!”
It is worth remembering that Mônica is inspired by the daughter of Mauricio de Sousa, who was just two years old at the time of her namesake’s creation. In addition, the character had her first official appearance in a comic strip by Cebolinha published in Ilustrada da Folha on March 3, 1963, where she gives her first rabbit, a trademark of the character until today.
The character’s success was so great that, in addition to comic strips and comic books, it gained space on small screens and big screens, through animations dedicated to portraying the Limoeiro Gang, as well as live-action films and series released in recent years.
