4 Nonsense Things About ‘Red: Growing Up Is A Beast’

Check out some moments from ‘Red: Growing up is a Beast’ that don’t make a lot of sense

Released in 2022, “Red: Growing up is a Beast” is one of Disney and Pixar’s latest animations, being responsible for representing the studio in the Best Animation category at the 2023 Oscars.

The film tells the story of Mei Lee, a 13-year-old girl torn between remaining an obedient daughter and the chaos of adolescence. Her mother Ming is an overprotective and somewhat authoritarian person who is never far from her daughter, which is a sad reality for the teenager. And as if the changes in her interests, relationships, and body weren’t enough, whenever she experiences strong emotions (which is pretty much always the case), she transforms into a giant red panda.

However, despite being a huge success, the animation has some moments that don’t make much sense — and we’re going to show you some of them now!

1. The members of 4*Town are not afraid of the giant panda

Before emerging during Mei and Ming’s clash, the members of 4*Town are seen walking calmly as they leave the stadium. However, what makes no sense is that, at no time, do they not show any kind of panic or despair, even with the chaotic scenario around them.

2. Mei’s friends know the Blood Moon ritual

During the movie, it was never explained how Mei’s friends knew everything needed to perform the ancient Blood Moon ritual. The curious thing is that not even Mei knew how to perform the act until that day, so there was no way for them to know about it having heard it from the girl.

3. The lack of security at the stadium

Have you ever noticed that after Ming unleashes his huge red panda in the middle of the 4*Town concert, no security appears to contain the situation? Not even to escort the band members is anyone seen. Why did this happen?

4. The Little Aftermath After the Event at the Sky Dome

At the end of the film, we see that the city completely accepts Mei even after everything that happened. However, what doesn’t make sense is that, after attacking a packed stadium during a concert, how did the girl’s family get away with paying only one fine?
