In ‘The Incredibles’, a new family of heroes was introduced to the public by Pixar: the Pêra family, which is led by Roberto Pêra, Mr Incredible, and his wife Helena, also known as the Elastic Woman, who are the parents of three children , Violeta, Arrow and Zezé.
In the first two films of the ‘The Incredibles’ franchise, the public can meet all of them, where Roberto and Helena developed decisive roles for the plot, as the two struggled and sometimes succeeded with the duties of superheroes, however, the couple are not the only ones who have power in the family, their three children also have superhuman abilities.
But, with all the repercussions of the production, Violeta, Flecha and Zezé’s parents are victims of a theory in which they convey that one of the couple’s children is adopted. However, who would be adopted?
Theory
According to the theory, Violeta would actually be the daughter of Edna Moda. Even though the film does not show that the girl is adopted, the public, according to the conspiracy, is able to notice her differences from the rest of her family, notably Violeta’s hair color and the shape of her nose. Still, according to the characteristics analyzed, Edna would be the mother of the character.
However, as much as it has some similarities, the film itself may have an explanation for this possible adoption. In production there was a revelation in which Edna came out of a 15-year retirement from the superhero world during the film to fix Roberto’s costume, and Violeta is only 14 years old, which makes the theory suggest that Edna retired due to the fact that she was pregnant with the girl. But, as the teenager was born nine months later and began to display her own powers, Moda went to seek help from Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl.
As much as this is pure speculation, if confirmed by the pixar a continuation of the plot sequence, this would completely change the way that the viewer follows and interprets the moments of the films.
One of the perceptions that would change in the public’s view, for example, would be Edna’s happiness in taking care of Zezé, a moment that happens during the first film of the franchise, and which suggests that this zeal may come from her not being able to raise Violet alone.
