5 Facts That Don’t Make Sense About ‘Hannah Montana’

Released in 2006 by the Disney Channel, ‘Hannah Montana’ became one of the biggest series on the channel and even ended up in theaters. With the talented Miley Cyrus in the lead role, the production tells the story of a girl who has a double life. During the day, she is Miley Stewart, a girl experiencing the challenges of adolescence. However, during the night the young woman puts on a wig and turns into Hannah Montana, one of the greatest singers in US teen pop music.

17 years after its launch, the series is still a hit with Miley fans and has fascinated generations. But, so many years later, the series has narratives that don’t make much sense when analyzed today. Below, we separate unanswered facts after the end of ‘Hannah Montana’.

1. Underneath the wig

In ‘Hannah Montana’, the blonde wig is Miley’s disguise. To avoid the end of her privacy, the young woman assumed the alter ego. However, the question remains: has anyone ever noticed that Hannah and Miley have the same face and voice? In several episodes, the character interacts with colleagues who do not know her secret and nothing was ever revealed. In the fourth and final season, Hannah Montana even goes to school at the same school as Miley.

2. The double life in songs

In most songs from the show’s first season, the lyrics have something in common: talk about double life by Miley Stewart. In ‘The Other Side of Me’, Hannah sings: “If you could see the other side of me / I’m just like nobody else / I can’t tell”. In ‘Just Like You’, the singer says: “What you saw / It’s only half the story / There’s another side of me / I’m a girl, you know / But I’m someone else too / If only you knew”.

3. Rico’s money

Another character that draws a lot of attention in ‘Hannah Montana’ is Rico. Spoiled and with a lot of money, he has a kiosk on the beach and is even Jackson’s boss, Miley’s brother. Although the series explains that the boy’s parents are rich and live in another country, it is not clear how he manages to run an establishment alone at the age of 12.

4. Hannah’s Fame

In the first episode of Hannah Montana, viewers witness the teen star singing ‘This Is The Life’ and, shortly afterwards, already witness the challenges of Miley Stewart’s double life when trying to hide the secret of Lily, her best friend. However, at no point does the series show how Hannah became famous. The closest we have to that is a season two episode in which Miley reminisces. How did you choose the character’s wig?

5. The movie

In 2009, Disney surprised fans of the series by releasing ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’. With a revamped look, the film shows that Hannah’s fame has gone to Miley’s head. Annoyed and worried about the situation, Bobby Ray Stewart decides to take his daughter to the family farm in Tennessee.

At the end of the ‘detoxification’ period, Miley ends up getting into trouble and reveals her true identity during a concert held in the city. But something surprising in the film draws attention when the audience present at the presentation agrees to keep the singer’s secret. Also, the movie doesn’t connect with the show either. In the fourth and final season, Miley goes on with her life as if nothing had happened.
