Actor Robert Blakewho is best remembered for a murder case he faced at the turn of the millennium, died yesterday, Thursday, at the age of 89 in the city of Los Angeles (USA).
According to local media, the actor of the series Baretta (1975-1978) died after a long heart disease, death confirmed by his niece.
In real life, the actor was accused of killing his second wife in 2001, Bonnie Lee Backleyshot twice while sitting in Blake’s car outside the restaurant.
In 2005, the actor was found not guilty in a criminal trial after various episodes of the murdered woman’s dark past were admitted.
However, months later Robert Blake he was found guilty of the willful murder of his wife in a civil suit and sentenced to pay $30 million to the four Bakley children.
Robert Blake’s career
Born in New Jersey in 1933, Robert Blake began his career as a child in films such as Honeymoon Suite (1939) and MGM short film series Our gang.
He trained in acting in the fifties and landed important roles in films such as purple gang (1959) This property is condemned (1966) or corky (1972).
He starred in numerous television series, but was Baretta one that marked his career after he played the iconic detective Tony Baretta who broke the rules.

Robert Blake has appeared in more than 160 film and television audiovisual productions, and the last production in which the actor participated was the film David Lynch, lost highway (1997).
