5 facts in ‘Cinderella’ that don’t make any sense

‘Cinderella’ poses unanswered questions more than 70 years after its release; find out which ones!

Being the second character to be part of the franchise disney Princess, Cinderella had her story presented in 1950 through the film that has her own name as its title. In the plot, the 19-year-old girl is a dreamy girl who, after the death of her father, lives with her evil stepmother and her two half-sisters, being constantly mistreated by the three, since she is obliged to carry out all the domestic services without no help.

Despite her harsh reality, Cinderella never stops believing that the best is yet to happen, and with the help of her animal friends, her fairy godmother and a lot of magic, the girl manages to go to the ball that would change her life, because after leaving her glass slipper accidentally behind, she ends up being found by the prince charming with whom she would live her so idealized “Happily Ever After”.

Although the feature film was released more than 70 years ago and is known by many, there are still some mysteries presented in the plot that remain unanswered to this day. With that in mind, we have separated 5 facts about Cinderella below that make no sense.

Fact #1: Only some of the animals can talk

Cinderella’s day to day life becomes easier, as she has many animal friends who amuse her and help her with some of the tasks she needs to do during the week, so much so that some of them can even talk to her, as is the the case of little mouse Jaq who is always chatting with the princess.

However, not all animals can speak, like Lucifer the cat, who cannot say a word. With this, it is not clear why only some of them are able to communicate verbally with Cinderella, since this fact is not explained at any time in the film.

Fact #2: The Fairy Godmother’s Late Visit

As already mentioned, Cinderella had to clean the mansion she lived in, in addition to fulfilling the wishes of her stepmother and her demanding stepsisters. The girl’s life was not easy at all and this can raise a big question: why didn’t the fairy godmother appear earlier?

If she had appeared at another time, the princess’s trajectory would have been less difficult, since with the help of magic, everything is possible to be resolved.

Fact #3: The stepsisters don’t recognize Cinderella at the ball

It is true that Anastasia and Drizella, Cinderella’s half-sisters are somewhat clumsy and inattentive. Still, they live with the princess on a daily basis, so how is it possible that they didn’t recognize the girl at the ball?

The question makes no sense in animation, so much so that in one of the live-action adaptations of the story, more precisely in ‘A Nova Cinderella’ (2004), the ball in question undergoes a small modification, since here, it is necessary that all guests wear masks.

Fact #4: Cinderella doesn’t tell the prince the truth

The invitation to the ball was clear: Prince Charming was inviting every woman in the kingdom, no exceptions. With this, it is possible to say that the royal member was willing to marry any girl who aroused her passion, whether she was a commoner or a crown holder.

Thus, there are no reasons that can explain why Cinderella did not tell the truth to the prince, since, if she had, she could have left the mansion in which she was forced to work so hard much easier.

Fact #5: The non-disappearance of the glass slippers

When the clocks aligned and revealed that it was already midnight, the magic that had turned a pumpkin into a carriage and Cinderella’s old clothes into a beautiful ball gown was undone, however, the same logic did not apply to the slippers. of Cinderella’s crystal, as they continued in their magical form.
