Come to present his GSM exhibition (1), to discover March 3 to 10 and composed of shots taken with an iPhone, photographer Axel Morin presented these images. As part of a lively opening in Paris. His photographs of urban landscapes, which play on contrasts, lines and movement, blended perfectly with the industrial decor of the cultural space, the roughness of which echoed the artist’s paintings of immortalized cities. On the menu: lights reflected from raindrops, an impressive billboard with a black screen, or even a plastic bag blown by the wind.

“Human” series

no apologies
The co-founder of Miraval Studios himself was attracted by the “simplicity” of Axel Morin’s work. “I find it beautiful and exciting that you can create human works of art with so few things,” enthuses Damien Quintar. I liked this aspect no apologies ; now if you want to make art, all the tools are in your pocket.” To create this soundtrack, the producer combined the sounds of everyday life recorded by Axel Morin, such as a horn, a sneeze or a car starting.
From this Friday, March 3, the public will therefore be able to discover the photographer’s work with a veritable urban jungle in the background. Visitors’ footsteps will lead them into a video, a kind of “emotional ending cocktail”, where the images come to life to the music of Damien Quintar. A way to stun, maybe before “Episode 2”. Because Axel Morin doesn’t intend to stop in such a good way. “This series will never stop because it’s what I capture every day,” concludes the former art director, who has created campaigns for Dior, Hermès and Louis Vuitton. These are images that I steal every day. This personal project is the story of a lifetime.”
