The dark version of Olaf that was scrapped from ‘Frozen’

The sweet character of ‘Frozen’ should be far less likeable; discover the details!

Who is the character who loves warm hugs? If you answered Olaf, you are more than correct! The snowman, who has a nose like a carrot and arms made out of twigs, was brought to life through Elsa’s powers in ‘Frozen’, the 53rd animated film from Walt Disney Pictures Studios, and has helped lighten things up ever since. the journey of the new queen of Arendelle through her jokes, silly comments and naive actions.

However, instead of being the cute sidekick that melted the hearts of those who watched the movie released in 2013, olaf was thought to participate in the feature film in a very different, even dark, way.

Is Olaf a villain?

Initially, Olaf would have a much less pleasant personality, since, as Screenrant found out, the sweet snowman should be cold and mean, in addition to having a smaller participation during the plot.

The character’s behavior even caused disgust in the director Jennifer Leewho said that when he first saw the presentation of what would later become Elsa and Anna’s spunky and fun companion, he wished he weren’t there.

When I saw the display – it wasn’t in the project yet – every time he appeared, I wrote: ‘Kill the snowman.’ I just wrote: ‘Kill him. I hate him. I hate him.'”

From then on, the character was rethought, and instead of being cold like his exterior, he gained a much more loving version, which showed that his interior had the warmth that was necessary to convey the love and kindness he possessed. and took it to the sisters of Arendelle.

With gestures that express affection and kindness, Olaf won the public’s sympathy, and in a supporting role, he became the protagonist of his solo stories created as spin-offs for the original franchise, as is the case of ‘Olaf In A New Freezing Adventure from Frozen’, a short from 2017 where the snowman tries to save Christmas.

In addition to this, there is also ‘Once upon a time a Snowman’ from 2020, a title where Olaf’s first steps after coming to life are revealed, as well as the six-episode series ‘Olaf Presents’ (2021) where he tells it in his own way. some of the main stories produced by Disney.

It is also worth mentioning the short films ‘The Legends of Frozen II’ (2009) and ‘Fozen: Freezing Fever’ which feature the fearless and small character, in addition to ‘Christmas in Arendelle’ (2020) and the sequel to ‘Frozen’ launched in 2019.
