Michael B. Jordan scored a revenge knockout of an old schoolmate who once taunted him about his show business ambitions. (Watch the video below.)
Instead of being in the ring, though, it happened on the red carpet for a recent screening in Atlanta of Jordan’s latest boxing movie, “Creed III.”
While about to interview Jordan, “The Morning Hustle” host Lore’l remarked that they “go all the way back to Chad Science,” referring to their school in Newark, New Jersey.
“Oh, the strange child, eh?” Jordan gave a nod to a 2021 Lore’l podcast in which he was called a “percent” for renting an aquarium for then-girlfriend Lori Harvey on Valentine’s Day.
“I didn’t say that,” Lore told the movie star. “Definitely misquoted.”
“No, I heard,” Jordan insisted, before pivoting. “What happens?”
Looks like Lore was technically right. A listen to the February 2021 segment of “The Undressing Room” reveals that a co-star appeared to make this observation and added that she didn’t mean to make it easy.
But there’s no denying that Lore has teased Jordan in the past when they were classmates. She accepted it on the show.
“To be honest with you, I used to tease him all the time because his name is Michael Jordan. Let’s start there. And it wasn’t Michael Jordan,” she said. “And then he also came to school with a blow to the head. … We live in Newark. This is the “hood”. I used to tease him saying, “What are you going to do with your stupid head shot!?” And now look at this!
However, no pain from Lore’l’s corner: “Ding, Ding. ROUND 1,” “The Morning Hustle” wrote on Instagram.
Jordan, meanwhile, is enjoying rave reviews for the film, which he also directed. Looks like he may have a crowd-pleasing hit on his hands.
