Bird on the Pearl brooch, Tiffany & Co Tiffany & Co.
During the Doha Jewelry and Watches Exhibition, which took place from February 20 to 25, the American jeweler Tiffany & Co presented a collection inspired by the famous Bird on The Rock by Jean Schlumberger. For the first time, the bird lands on exceptional pearls.
Perched bird
The iconic Bird On The Rock brooch was designed by Jean Schlumberger in 1965. He was inspired by the yellow-crested cockatoo, and to make it more luxurious, he set it on an exceptional stone. Since then, the American jeweler has reproduced the same design with other precious stones, including diamonds and colored stones.

But the bird had never landed on the pearl. This is thanks to Tiffany & Co’s new high-end jewelry capsule collection, Bird on The Pearl, which was unveiled at the jewelry show in Doha. The exceptional pearls were sourced from Mr. Hussain Al Fardan, a recognized expert on natural pearls from the Persian Gulf.
The iconic jewel is a brooch with a sparrow resting on a 35-carat baroque pearl. The set is available as a necklace, with a flight of diamond birds hovering over three rows of pearls, totaling 371 carats, worthy of an Elizabeth II necklace. Several trinkets are available. On some, the cockatoo turns its head. Earrings that just pick up the top give a punk effect. Rings and brooches, using the jeweler’s original designs, complete the collection. Jewelry that Jean Schlumberger would definitely not deny.
