Burny Mattinson has worked at The Walt Disney Company since he was 18 years old.
Burny Mattinsonanimator responsible for the development of great classics for The Walt Disney Company and the company’s oldest employee, died at the age of 87 last Monday, 27. The cause of death was not disclosed to the public.
The news was shared by disney on their official channels. On Twitter, the studio published a video in honor of Mattinson remembering the steps that the artist has taken in the last almost seven decades since he started working at the company at the height of his youth, at the age of 18. Check out!

In the caption of the video that carries a compilation of photos and videos that recall the legacy of the animator, they wrote:

The first work of Mattinson at Disney it was as an intermediate animator on ‘Lady and the Tramp’. After being promoted to animation assistant for Marc Davis in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ he did the same work in ‘One Hundred and One Dalmatians’, followed by ‘The Sword in the Stone’, ‘Mary Poppins’, ‘Mowgli: Boy Wolf’ and ‘Aristocats’.
Even so, he was also present in the development of classics such as ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Aladdin’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Pocahontas’, ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘Mulan’, in all of them as senior animator, as well as serving as lead director on the special “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: It Snowed at Mickey’s House”.
