Colin Jost destroys Trump in ‘Weekend Update’ of his visit to eastern Palestine

“Weekend Update” host Colin Jost didn’t hold back when he criticized former President Donald Trump for his visit to the disaster-stricken community of eastern Palestine, Ohio, last week. (You can watch a clip of the segment below.)

Trump, who praised the quality of his bottled water brand during the visit, was turned off by the community affected by a toxic chemical spill — and later chemical burns — from a Norfolk Southern train derailment earlier this year.

Jost, who also saw President Joe Biden’s response to the disaster, poked fun at the former president — and Rudy Giuliani — on the “Saturday Night Live” segment.

“Donald Trump visited East Palestine, the site of the recent train derailment, because Trump usually tries to look better standing next to a train wreck,” Jost joked as a photo of Giuliani appeared next to him.

“The train that derailed was carrying highly toxic vinyl chloride, which I believe is something that Trump is recommending as a cure for COVID.”

He then criticized the former president for distributing water to residents and noted the Trump administration’s rollback of rail safety regulations.

“What’s next? Is he going to visit all the migrant children he’s caged and give them a gift card to Dave & Buster’s?” Jost asked, eliciting groans from the audience.

You can watch more from Jost and Michael Che in the clip below.
