Will once again fans of ‘Stranger Things‘ will be surprised by the return of Dr. Brenner? In an interview with RadioTimes, Matthew Modinethe interpreter of the scientist, revealed that he would like to return to the role, even if his character was presumed dead at the end of the fourth season of the series.
In the chat, Modine was asked about the possibility of returning to the cast of the production even if Brenner has gone from there to a better one and he replied smiling: “is he dead? I don’t know…”. But, he soon put the joke aside and stated that he would like to be present in the last season of the series.
I love Millie Bobby Brown, I love [os criadores] Duffer brothers, the [produtor e diretor] Shawn Levy, and it was a wonderful show to work on. I had fun every day I worked on the show. I hope there’s a way to resurrect Dr. Brenner and put him in season five because it would be wonderful to be a part of the final season.”
Still in the conversation, the actor was asked about how the Doctor who is called “Papa” by Eleven could come back to life. In response, he recalled the times when the doctor escaped death and recalled one of the rules of cinema: no body, no dead person.
Well, we didn’t really see him dead – he was just lying there in the dirt. He survived the Demogorgon and Vecna in the first episode of season four, as the children died…”
However, the death of Dr. Brenner was confirmed by series creators, the brothers duffer, who stated that the character “was roasted”. With that, the actor’s presence in ‘Stranger Things’ would only be possible again through a flashback.
‘Stranger Things’ had its first season released in 2016 and has since won three new ones, all of which are now available in the Netflix catalogue. The fifth and final season of the series still has no details about the plot released, as well as there is no confirmation of the long-awaited premiere date.
