Disney good guys who could be considered villains

The attitudes of some protagonists could lead them to be the antagonists of Disney stories; find out why!

Since Disney’s first animated feature film, released in the 1930s, the plots developed by the studio have featured characters who, from the first scene, already show what their roles in the stories will be.

That’s because villains always appear exposing their terrible plans, in addition to appearing on screen with dark visuals, capable of leaving anyone with their hair standing on end. The good guys, on the other hand, have noble attitudes and are always the most adorable in the plot, doing everything they can to make everyone happy in the end.

However, there are some studio figures who have characteristics in their personalities that can cause confusion in the public, as they can express selfish, petty and even violent attitudes, even if they occupy the vacancies of good Samaritans in their plots.

With that in mind, we analyzed Disney’s animated feature films and found some characters who are good guys, but who could be considered villains. Look!

In ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ we see the young emperor Kuzco being turned into a llama by his former adviser, Yzma, after dismissing her, as the action aroused the fury of the woman who would like to occupy the throne.

The action makes Kuzco the good guy of the plot, as the story shows his redemption until he gets his human body back. However, before finally redeeming himself and returning to power, the emperor, who is arrogant and selfish, provides several scenes worthy of a villain.

That’s because, he’s willing to take an entire village’s home without the slightest bit of remorse just to build a summer home for himself. In addition, he shows his ingratitude by abandoning the only person who was willing to help him, leaving Pacha trapped on a bridge about to fall.

Happiness

Despite being seen as the heroine of ‘Fun Mind’, Alegria could easily occupy the position of antagonist of the plot if her motivation was different.

This is because Joy takes the reins of the feelings control room, leaving disgust, anger, fear and especially sadness aside, actions that end up being some of the attitudes responsible for Riley’s emotional chaos.

Thus, if Joy’s selfish behaviors were not guided by the objective of maintaining Riley’s well-being, the character who believes that the young girl should always be happy so that she stays well, could gain another look and be responsible for the role of plot antagonist.

Peter Pan

Released in 1953′Peter Pan‘ presented the title character of the film as the good guy of the story, but if his attitudes were seen without the magical air of the plot, everything could be different, since Peter took the children to never-never land without intending to bring them back home.

In addition, the film presents Captain Hook as a villain, however, the pirate just wanted revenge, as the boy who never grows old had cut his hand and thrown it to the crocodiles, causing the well-known rivalry of cinemas.
