Released on February 10, Hogwarts Legacy conquers absurd numbers on the gaming platform
Hogwarts Legacy premiered on Steam on February 10th and has since broken numerous records. The last one corresponds to the number of players in the first weekend of launch, since, between Saturday and Sunday, the game accumulated over 800,000 simultaneous players.
According to data from the Steam Data Base compiled by Olhar Digital, on the afternoon of last Sunday, the 12th, the game that is set in the school of magic attended by Harry Potter reached the historical mark of 811,230 simultaneous players.
The feat made Hogwarts Legacy the 3rd title with the highest number of concurrent players on Steam in history, behind only Elden Ring, which had about 950,000 concurrent players, and Cyberpunk 2077, which had almost 100,000 more players.
Still on Steam, the game that was developed by the Avalanche studio and published by Warner Bros. Games, occupies the top four positions in the platform’s sales ranking, as pre-order editions for the Deluxe and Standard versions are counted separately from post-launch purchases.
Hogwarts Legacy is an RPG game set in the world presented in the Harry Potter books, more precisely, in the year 1800, long before the little wizard with the lightning bolt on his forehead set foot in the powerful school of magic. The game is available for PC, Playstation 4 and 5 and Xbox Series X|S and One.
