In addition to the 12 known princesses, there are others that many people forget; check out
Officially, only 12 characters are officially part of the Disney Princesses franchise. They are: Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida and Moana. However, this huge universe of animations created by walt disney it’s not just about these princesses.
In the studio’s animations, there are still other characters that can also be considered princesses in their stories, but that were not part of the necessary requirements to participate in the select group. Meet some!
1. Kiara
Princess Kiara is the daughter of Simba and Nala, appearing in the “The Lion King” franchise only in the second film, which is often overlooked by many people. Being a little lioness with a big personality, Kiara didn’t have the opportunity to join the Disney Princess group for two big reasons: she only appears in one sequel, and she’s not half human.
2. melody

Protagonist of “The Little Mermaid 2”, Melody is the daughter of Ariel and Eric, being legitimately a princess – both from the land world and from the bottom of the sea. Despite not being born as a mermaid, the girl is an excellent swimmer and has an immense and deep love for the water. But why doesn’t she participate in the group like her mother? Simple, Melody appears only in the second film. Therefore, it does not fit the rules imposed by the studio.
3. Kida Nedakh

Kidagakash Nedakh, or simply Kida, is the princess of Atlantis, daughter of Kashekim Nedakh, the king of the sunken city, and appearing in the films “Atlantis: The Lost Kingdom” and “Atlantis 2: Return of Milo”. After the death of her parents, she becomes queen and marries Milo James Thatch, the main character of the story.
4. Eilonwy

Eilonwy is Princess Llyr from the movie “The Magic Cauldron”, from 1985. She is only 12 years old and, in her story, ends up being kidnapped by another king with the intention of using her to find the desired magic cauldron. Although not much is known about her family, it is made clear that she is a legitimate princess, however, she ended up not joining the famous Disney group due to the lack of success of her film.
5. Megara

Better known only as Meg, she is the romantic interest of Hécules, and is considered a revolutionary Disney character for being one of the first to appear in the role of heroine, and not just that of a young lady in distress. In fact, one of her first lines in the film is “I am a maiden, I am in danger, but I manage. Have a good day”. Meg, however, didn’t fit in with Disney Princesses just because she wasn’t the lead in her own movie.
