In Paris, during an evening organized with Chanel.

Nadia Tereskevic and Marion Cotillard
Why do you make movies? ?
Nadia Tereskevich. – It’s still new to me, but I’m making movies because I’m crazy about acting, meeting different worlds, traveling through time, living different lives.
Marion Cotillard. – Because I haven’t found anything better to try to understand how this wonderful animal that is man works. A basic need for me.
Nadia Tereskevich is nominated Almond treesBy Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.

Sandrine Kiberlein and Rebecca Marder

Why do you make movies?
Sandrine Kiberlein. – It’s a question I never asked myself because cinema seemed obvious to me. The first movies I saw got me into this frame and this oversized character. It brings stories and characters to life.
Rebecca Marder. – To get out of my life for a while and live with thousands of others. Movie and theater sets are the only places where I feel fully present. Time is sacred there. I feel more useful when I’m playing than anywhere else.
Rebecca Marder is nominated A young girl who is goodin: Sandrine Kiberlein.
Lea Drucker and Bastien Bouillon

Why do you make movies?
Leah Drucker. – I make films in order to get out of my reality and go to the imagination of others. I make films to travel, meet people and do things that I would not dare to do in life.
Bastien Bouillon. – To forget me, like when I make love but it doesn’t work every time…
Bastien Bouillon is nominated 12 at nightBy Dominic Moll.
Jonathan Cohen and Mael Rouen-Berandou
Jonathan Cohen. personal clothing. Mael Rouin-Berrandou. Barrie outfit. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Jonathan Cohen. – I still ask myself the question, but to be honest, cinema is the only thing that fills me and makes me happy at the moment.
Mael Rouin-Berrandou. – To make me like it because I like it, but also to make other people like it.
played by Maël Rouin-Berrandou Me and my brothersBy Johan Manka.
Suheila Yacoub and Camille Coty
Souheila Yacoub and Camille Cottin. Dior outfit and jewelry. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Suheila Yakub. – Because this profession is constantly evolving. Myself, I often change my opinion, because it is a profession that changes a lot, you get to know new people, you have to adapt all the time. It is very enriching.
Camille Cotin. – It was a dream to make a movie, and even if desires evolve over time, it remains a job I never tire of.
played by Suheila Yaqub between wavesBy Anais Volpe.
Kayije Kagame and Claire Denis
Kayije Kagame and Claire Denis. Chanel outfits. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Kayije Kagame. – Because I strongly believe in Alice Diop. He gave me my first film experience with his film Saint Omer whereas I developed in the theater and contemporary art world. Cinema came late in my life, perhaps because my demands were too great.
Claire Denis. – When I see Alice Diop’s films, I understand why we want to work with her. As for me, I knew I wanted to be in movies because that was the only thing I was interested in. I restrained myself a bit because when I started it was difficult for a young woman to direct. So I smuggled in. When my first film saw the light of day, I knew they couldn’t put me away anymore.
Kaije Kagame stars Saint-OmerBy Alice Diop.

Mallory Vanek and Virginia Efira
Mallory Wanecque. Miu Miu outfit. Virginia Ephira: Saint Laurent. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Mallory Vanek. – I did not ask myself this question because I had never thought about becoming an actress. I was chosen in a wild casting and I accepted to play the worst because I was curious to see what the shoot looked like. After all, I liked to play and put myself in a character’s place.
Virginia Efira. – For me it is the complete opposite. I always wanted to make films, but I was able to achieve this dream only much later. I even used to do another job because I held this art so sacred that I was afraid to do it. I lacked confidence and lacked Mallory’s spontaneity. Why do I love movies? Because sometimes you feel more alive there.
Mallory Vanek is nominated The worstBy Lise Akoka and Romane Gueret.
Clara Breteau and Pascal Gregory
Clara Bretto. Paco Rabanne outfit. Pascal Gregory. Dries Van Noten. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Clara Bretto. – Miraculously. I always thought I would do theater, but the idea of acting in a movie about a theater school that changes a young girl’s life could only tempt me.
Pascal Grigori. – By mistake. Since I failed my BA twice, I had to do something.
Clara Bretto is nominated Almond treesBy Valeria Bruni Tedeschi.
Paul Kircher and Romain Duris
Paul Kircher: personal outfit. Romain Duris: Céline outfit, Boucheron jewelry. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Paul Kircher. – Because the camera takes a lot from the actor, it forces him to constantly feed. This quest takes us every day and allows us to move forward into life with great momentum.
Romain Duris. – Cinema reinvents itself every time with different universes and people. Few jobs allow that. I also like that there is really no goal to achieve. We don’t always have the keys. We are playing with our soul, our heart, our sensitivity. Using it all fascinates me. There is nothing Cartesian about this profession.
Paul Kircher is nominated High school studentBy Christophe Honoré.
Shane Boumedi and Leila Bechty
Shain Boumedine. Hermès outfit, Chopard watch. Leila Bekhti. Maison Margiela outfit, Tiffany and Co jewelry. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Shane Boumedin. – Because Abdellatif Kechiche introduced me to this world and this work that I knew nothing about. I got caught up in a game that I would be hard pressed to do without today.
Leila Bekhti. – Because I love telling stories and telling myself stories. I also think that playing characters helps me accept things about myself and allows me to be happier in my life in a weird way.
played by Shane Boumedin placedBy Nessim Chikhaoui.
Marion Barbeau and Emmanuel DeVos
Marion Barbeau. Chanel clothes. Emmanuel DeVos. personal wear, Chanel jewelry. MATHIAS INJIC
Why do you make movies?
Marion Barbeau. – I don’t really know if I want to make movies (Marion Barbeau is the first ballerina of the Paris Opera, editor’s note), but what defines it, meeting people who excite me, experience emotions and convey them represents everything I love in life.
Emmanuel Devos. – To have a parallel life.
