5 Disney animations that deserved a live-action

Some Disney stories would be even more amazing with flesh-and-blood characters; find out which ones!

Several Disney animated stories would be even more magical if transformed into live-action, so much so that the studio has already adjusted several of its animations to come to life through real actors and settings, as is the case of the adaptations ‘Aladdin’ (2019 ), ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017) and ‘Cinderella’ (2015).

Even so, the most recent among them was ‘Pinocchio’, whereTom Hanks gave life to Gepetto, the carpenter who builds the famous wooden puppet named Pinocchio (Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) and treats him like a son. In the plot it is still possible to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt like Jiminy Cricket and Cynthia Erivo like the Blue Fairy.

But there are still stories that could receive their versions in flesh and blood. For this reason, we separate below a list with 5 animations from disney that deserved a live-action. Check out!

1. The Emperor’s New Groove

With the right to break the fourth wall, ‘The Emperor’s New Groove’ hit theaters in the 2000s featuring Kuzco, the arrogant and petty young emperor who embarks on a journey of redemption filled with good humor and fun for those who watch.

The film has a unique way of presenting the narrative, which combined with the snobbish mannerisms of Kusco and the charismatic supporting actors, would make a good ensemble for a funny and action-packed live-action adaptation.

2. Operation Big Hero

Drama, action and lots of adventure. These are perhaps the most appropriate words to summarize “Operation Big Hero”, a 2014 film that featured Baymax, the inflatable robot whose mission is to take care of Hiro Hamada, but who ends up becoming a true superhero.

The heroic plot could very well be adapted to be lived by real actors, as in Marvel comic book adaptations, where the Avengers and several other superpowered figures were portrayed in flesh and blood on screen.

3. Anastasia

Becoming a Disney label after the merger of the studio with Fox (the producer of the feature), and now available on the studio’s streaming platform, ‘Anastasia’ (1997) is one of the princess stories, which, like ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2017) and ‘Cinderella’ (2015), also deserves a live-action movie.

The story would have the aesthetics of the 1920s, the year in which the animation is set, and would address the trajectory of Anastasia, the youngest daughter of the Russian royal family, who after the spell of the evil Rasputin loses her family and her memory. Despite the tragedy, that doesn’t stop her from embarking on a long journey to find out who she really is and find her grandmother, who besides her, was the only survivor of the curse.

4. Family of the future

The adventure released in 2007 presents the successful combo of blockbusters like ‘Back to the Future’ by presenting a science fiction story that features robots, time travel and breaking, addresses issues surrounding family relationships, thus proving that could become a big live-action movie.

Set in 15th century country, ‘The Hunchback of Notre-Dame’ could make a great period adaptation starring real actors. The plot released in 1996 features a young man who lives locked up in Notre Dame Cathedral, until he decides to leave. After several obstacles, he meets and falls in love with a gypsy, and together, they will have to face the wrath of a judge with bad intentions.
