creators comment on the third episode of the series

Last Sunday, the 29th, the third episode of the series ‘The Last Of Us’ aired on HBO Max. With the release of another episode of the production, the creators of the series, Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazincommented on the emotional chapter that was shown, which portrayed the story of Bill and Frank.

The episode, which was named ‘Long Long Time’, had the actors’ characters PedroEaster and BellaramseyJoel and Ellie, respectively, going in search of refuge in the house of Bill, character from Nick Offerman. However, during a good part of the chapter, flashbacks were shown of Frank’s romance with the survivor over the years, when, the disease that weakened Frank, put an end to her life together with her husband.

After the presentation of the episode, to the LA Times, Craig Mazin, production scriptwriter, said: “For those who played the game, everything we show is new. The story of Bill and Frank, and the letter Bill leaves Joel is a big reason why Joel decides to continue on his journey with Ellie. Their romance ends up being the key to the whole series.”

Craig still commented on the end that the characters had, which thus mark a new episode of the journey between Joel and Ellie: “I believe that, in a series like this, where the world around the characters is always pressing them, there is a tendency that endings have to be tragic, violent and sudden. It was important to show that a relationship could last in this world and come to an end in a natural way. Because death is a very natural thing to happen.”

Still, on twitter, the director of the game that is the basis of the adaptation of the HBO Max series, Neil Druckmann, commented: “Why is everyone crying? That was the happy episode!”

The series ‘The Last Of Us’ has new episodes every Sunday broadcast by HBO and HBO Max.
