Priscilla Presley reflected on Thursday about the “dark” journey of losing her daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, who died on January 12.
Lisa Marie, the only child of Priscilla and Elvis Presley, was 54 years old.
“I am truly overwhelmed by your words, your prayers, your love and support,” Priscilla Presley wrote in a thank you message to fans. Chirp.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart for trying to help me through this loss,” she added. “Any parent who has lost a daughter or son knows what a dark and painful journey it is.”
She described her daughter as “the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known” in a statement following the musician’s death.

Lisa Marie Presley is survived by her three daughters: Riley Keough and twins Finley and Harper Lockwood. His son, Benjamin Keough, committed suicide in July 2020.
The artist’s funeral took place on January 22 at his late father’s estate, Graceland, in Memphis, Tennessee. She was buried next to her son, Benjamin.
The singer’s close friend Joel Weinshanker told Entertainment Tonight that the late Presley “had a lot of thoughts about what his funeral was going to be like.”
“There was no question that she wanted to be buried at Graceland. “Ever since her son died, there was no doubt that she wanted to be buried next to her son,” Weinshanker said in an interview that took place before the funeral.
“The only thing he said to her was, ‘Don’t be sad,'” she added. “It wants to be a celebration and it will be.”
