This is the first “Queendom” spin-off show after “Road to Kingdom” and “Kingdom: Legendary War
This Thursday, the 26th, a source from Mnet (via Soompi) confirmed that a derivative of the program that features presentation battles between girl groups, “Queendom”, will be broadcast by the station in the first half of this year.
Entitled “Queendom Puzzle”, the show still does not have a premiere date and details officially released, however, it is expected that the spin-off will have a different format than that already known by fans of “Queendom”. The production will feature Lee Yeon Kyu as director.
please note that Lee Yeon Kyu was also in charge of ‘Queendom 2’, the second edition of the competition held last year which had the participation of hyolyn (ex-SISTAR), LOONA, VIVIZ, Brave Girls, Kep1er and WJSN, in addition to Taeyeon, from Girls’ Generation, as a presenter. The winners were the girls from WJSN.
The first edition aired in 2019 and had as participants Park Bom, (G)I-DLE, MAMAMOO, Oh My Girl, AOA and Lovelyz. The MAMAMOO members were crowned the big winners of the first season.
Still, “Queendom Puzzle” won’t be the first “Quendoom” spin-off show. This is because there were also “Road to Kingdom” and “Kingdom: Legendary War”, productions held in 2020 and 2021, respectively, which featured performances by male idols.
