Jeremy Renner was involved in a snowplow accident on New Year’s Day.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office incident report reveals that Jeremy Renner was trying to prevent his snowcat (a vehicle used to move on snow and remove it from the site) from reaching his nephew when he was run over by the machine itself on New Year’s Day, as revealed by CNN.
The document that was filed last Friday, the 20th, details that jeremy used the snowcat to help tow his nephew’s truck that had become stuck in the snow in his driveway. After that, the vehicle began to slide sideways and it was at that moment that the actor who gives life to Hawkeye Archer in the MCU jumped out of the cabin.
The Pistenbully snowplow began to slide, causing Renner to exit the vehicle without applying the emergency brake,” the report reads.
But when he realized that the snow plow could hit his nephew, Renner tried to get back on the big machine to stop or divert the snowcat. But upon jumping onto the runway, the report says the actor was “immediately pulled under the left side runway”.
Still according to the document, if the handbrake had been activated, the accident could have been avoided. “Although the Pistenbully had some mechanical issues, it is believed, based on our mechanical inspection, that the brake would prevent it from moving forward.”
Additionally, the brake indicator light inside the vehicle’s cab was not working, so “mechanical issues may have been a factor in this accident.”
On January 1 Jeremy Renner was airlifted to the hospital where he remained for over two weeks after suffering orthopedic injuries and blunt trauma to his chest, resulting in at least two surgeries and intensive care unit (ICU) treatments.
