In an interview with Esquire Korea (via Soompi), soobinfrom TXT, compared his leadership in the group with that of MRIfrom BTS, where he stated that despite admiring the way the idol deals with the various issues that arise in the global group, he does not think he could be the same type of leader as his professional colleague.
The chat was held after group and solo photo shoots, where each of the TXT members spoke about their expectations for the new releases, the group’s goals, and more. So, during the conversation, soobin was asked about his greatest strength, to which he replied, “Honestly, I don’t think I’m that perfect leader who is firm, decisive and has everything figured out.
I said recently that I respect BTS’s RM, but he’s serious like that. By all accounts, his range of thought is incredibly deep, and he has strong convictions about his personal preferences and direction. I don’t think I’ll be able to become that kind of leader. Instead, one thing I can confidently say is that I am a comfortable person. I believe that, for my members at least, I am someone they feel more comfortable with and who opens their minds with just a conversation.”
When they debuted, TXT was initially compared to BTS because they were from the same company, but the truth is that the owners of “Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment)” seem to serve more as a source of inspiration for the boys. That’s because, when talking about the dream of winning a Daesang (Grand Prize), soobin explained, ‘Let’s really become a group that can follow BTS.’”
I feel really proud and along with that, there’s an atmosphere where we end up working even harder. That’s why I think I started to think like that and say ‘Okay, let’s win a Daesang together. That way, we can become happier and healthier.’”, concluded the idol.
It is also worth remembering that on January 11, the two groups entered the top 10 best-selling albums in the US in 2022, where “Proof”, the anthology album by BTS, occupies third place in the list of physical and digital sales combined, while the TXT, with their mini-album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” appeared in tenth position.
Formed by Big Hit, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, better known as TXT, is composed of yeonjun, Soobin, Beomgyu, Taehyun and Hueningkai. Their most recent comeback took place in May of this year, with the album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child”. Check out the video for the title track “Good Boy Gone Bad!”.
