The list of Oscar 2023 nominees was released by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this Tuesday, the 24th, and among the categories is ‘Best Feature Film Animation’ where five titles compete for the golden statuette.
The following films compete for the category: ‘Pinocchio by Guillermo Del Toro’, ‘Marcel the Shell with Shoes On’ (Dean Fleischer Camp), ‘Puss in Boots 2: The Last Order’ (Joel Crawford), ‘The Beast of the Sea’ (CChris Williams) and ‘Red – Growing up is a Beast‘ (Domee Shi).
It is worth remembering that ‘Puss in Boots 2: The Last Order’ is still on display. The film features Brazilian actor, Wagner Mourain the original voice cast, where he voices the Big Bad Wolf. Moorish he was even nominated for an Annie Awards in the category of Best Dubbing for his role in the second solo film of the caramel cat who wields swords.
In addition to these, the ceremony also has the Best Animated Short Film category, where ‘The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse’, ‘The Flying Sailor’, ‘Ice Merchants’, ‘My Year of Dicks’ and ‘An Ostrich Told Me the World is Fake and I Think I Believe It’ compete for the award.
The Oscar 2023 ceremony was designed to honor the best actors, technicians and films of 2022. The awards will be held on March 12 of this year with a presentation by Jimmy Kimmel. The presenter had already commanded the award in the years 2017 and 2018.
