Is the ship shown in ‘The Little Mermaid’ the same as the one in ‘Frozen’?

With the soul of researchers and keen eyes, fans of animated narratives created not only the Pixar Theory, but also the Disney Theory, which is responsible for linking the events of most animated films by The Walt Disney Animation Studios into a single universe following a Chronological order of events.

Among the facts that connect the studio’s feature films, is the ship shown in ‘The Little Mermaid’, as the theory argues that this is the same one that appears in ‘Frozen – A Freezing Adventure’.

As well?

Launched in 2013, under the command of Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee ‘Frozen – A Freezing Adventure’ presented, in addition to the terrible curse of eternal winter and the beautiful relationship between Elsa and Anna, the story of how the two had lost their parents in a terrible shipwreck.

‘The Little Mermaid’, animation that hit theaters in 1989 through the direction of Ron Clements and john muskertold the story of the princess daughter of King Triton who dreamed of leaving the depths of the ocean to live a great love and discover everything that the surface could offer.

Two completely different stories, right? But, to understand how they are related, it is necessary to connect one more film to the line of events: ‘Tangled’ (2011), plot of Nathan Greno and byron howard which addresses the adventure Rapunzel and Flynn face so that the young woman with long blonde hair can finally be free.

The theory

That’s because, there are indications that Rapunzel and Flynn appeared in ‘Frozen’ during Elsa’s coronation ceremony. According to the theory, the couple went to the place because the King and Queen of Arendelle could have been on their way to Rapunzel and Eugene’s wedding when their ship sank.

In addition, the place where the shipwreck occurred is responsible for inserting ‘The Little Mermaid’ into the theory, since the Kingdom of Corona, from ‘Tangled’, is in Germany, while the Kingdom of Arendelle, from ‘Frozen’, is located in Norway, therefore, it is possible that the ship of Elsa’s parents sank in the middle of the way, that is, in Denmark, close to where Ariel and her family live, proving that in it where the mermaid sings ‘Part of Your World’. Remember!

What do the creators say?

The theory was commented on by Ron Clements and John Musker, the directors ofThe Little Mermaid’. “Can you talk to Chris Buck [diretor de ‘Frozen’] “, replied Musker between laughs in an interview with E! Notícias.

We really don’t know our side with Frozen,” added Clements, “and I never asked him.”

Musker also revealed that seeing the princesses’ worlds intertwine would be “interesting”, although the possibility of the crossover led to a laugh accompanied by the statement: “It’s like fan fiction”.
