Palm Springs is one of the most famous film festivals in the world. It celebrates the best international films every year.
Ukrainian actress Oksana Cherkashina, who played Irka in the drama film Klondike, received the FIPRESCI award. Director Marina Er Gorbach announced this on Facebook.
“Oksana Cherkashina received the FIPRESCI Award – Best Actress for her role as Irka in the film Klondike at the Palm Springs Film Festival. Without exaggeration, a historic achievement,” he wrote.
As for the plot of the film, it tells about a local family who found themselves at the center of events of the plane crash of MH17 in the village of Grabovo, Donetsk region.
The main characters are expecting a new addition to the family, however, Irina refuses to evacuate, even when the Russian invaders enter the village.
In the Ukrainian box office, Klondike started on November 3.
It was previously reported that in honor of the 25th anniversary of the James Cameron film, an updated version of Titanic will be released on the big screens.
